Event 1: Evalyn Parry Live at NFLB Family Stage – Sunday, July 7th, 2024 – 2 p.m.
Award-winning Toronto spoken word poet, theatre artist, and songwriter Evalyn Parry will perform excerpts from her show SPIN, which celebrates the feminist history of the bicycle. Come witness a captivating fusion of theatre, music, and spoken word poetry as Evalyn shares the inspiring story of Annie Londonderry, the first woman to ride around the world on a bicycle in 1895. This event promises to be a brilliant blend of artistic expression and historical storytelling.
Event 2: Evalyn Parry Spoken-Word Family-Friendly Workshop at NLFB CBC Acoustic Stage – Sunday, July 7th, 2024- 4 p.m.
Be part of an interactive, family-friendly spoken word workshop led by Evalyn Parry and Sudbury poet P. Smith. This engaging workshop offers the opportunity for participants of all ages to explore the art of spoken word, share their own creative pieces, and enjoy a showcase of captivating performances.
