Wordstock Sudbury Literary Festival Membership Votes to Decline Board Recommendation of Dissolution; Details of Future of the Festival to Come
Sudbury, ON – On the evening of June 4th 2025, Wordstock Sudbury Literary Festival’s membership met virtually to discuss the board’s recommendation of dissolving the organization in light of the growing challenges faced by arts organizations. This comes after the press release announcing the board’s recommendation on May 26th 2025 .
After a long discussion, the membership vocalized the importance of keeping the festival due to its impact on the community and the opportunities it offers to readers, writers and lovers of words.
The structure of the organization and of the board will change in the current year to adapt to this decision, and the membership and the board will collaborate and continue to discuss the future of Wordstock Sudbury, and what it will look like in the years to come.
We are grateful to everyone for their show of support and their desire to keep this literary gem in our city.
